It’s the start of a new week and with it comes a whole list of things to take on. A general list of to-do’s and errands which would be there any other week. Only this time it’s different. This time we’re getting things done because at any moment a baby is coming. Who knows what mighty changes a newborn will bring? Not us…

Dearest tannie Erna said the following about a series of new undertakings that she was part of: “There will never be another first.”

This is it. This is a new first for us. How will we approach it? How will we think about it and ready ourselves for it? One of the thrills of a firsthand encounter, which every parent-to-be will surely have to face, is that it marks you. From that moment onwards, it’s all part of the story. But as for me and as for now, I can only wonder over our child, who she is, who she will become, and the change she will set into motion in our lives.

Now then, before I was a father to be, I was and still am a husband who has marked out this moment to look back on 55 months and more of my beautiful wife. This is some of my treasure chest of kept photos, all of which are more precious than gold. Some of the pictures are blurred and others are raw, some are skew and tainted according to the smart eye. But, like your grandparents’ albums, so too is this one. Each picture has enough in it to awaken story, just the way we like it!
